About The Role

Semi-Skilled Labourer

Our client is looking for a reliable and hardworking Semi-Skilled Labourer / Workshop Operative to join their busy fabrication team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with practical experience using tools and working within a workshop or fabrication environment.

The role is primarily workshop-based, with occasional site work, supporting the manufacture and installation of bespoke metalwork projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Measuring, cutting, drilling, and preparing metal components from cut lists.
  • Using hand tools, power tools, guillotines, band saws, and metal punches.
  • Assisting fabricators with workshop activities and daily tasks.
  • Loading and unloading deliveries.
  • Preparing materials and equipment for site work.
  • Loading company vans with required materials and tools.
  • Supporting installation teams on-site when required.
  • Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised working environment.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a workshop, fabrication, or construction environment.
  • Confident using hand and power tools.
  • Experience measuring, cutting, and drilling materials accurately.
  • Valid CSCS Card.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Counterbalance Forklift Licence or previous forklift experience.
  • Good understanding of health and safety procedures.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently and as part of a team.

Skills Required

  • Metalwork and fabrication support skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work from measurements/cut lists.
  • Good organisation and time management.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to support the wider team.
